Faith Moves God—Your Fear Doesn’t
Faith is one of the most powerful forces that can shape a person's life, determining not only their spiritual destiny but also their daily experiences. The words from Luke 1:45, "You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said," encapsulate a fundamental truth that resonates through history, scripture, and personal testimonies. The blessings of God are not random or arbitrary; they are deeply tied to faith and belief in His promises. To walk in the fullness of divine blessings, one must first believe that God is faithful to fulfill His word.
Throughout the Bible, faith has always been the key to unlocking God’s promises. From Abraham, who believed God’s promise that he would be the father of many nations, to Mary, the mother of Jesus, who accepted the angel’s words with unwavering faith, the evidence is clear. Those who believe without doubting are positioned to receive what God has promised. The connection between faith and blessing is inseparable. Faith moves the hand of God, not because He is reluctant to bless, but because faith aligns the believer with His divine will and purpose.
Believing in God’s word does not mean that challenges will not come. On the contrary, faith is often tested through trials, but it is in those moments that the believer's trust in God is proven. Job was a man who faced immense suffering, losing everything he had, yet his unwavering faith led to a restoration far greater than what he lost. The same principle applies today. When a person remains steadfast in faith, even in the face of adversity, God honors that belief by bringing about blessings in ways that exceed human understanding.
In the modern world, many people struggle with doubt, especially when circumstances appear contrary to God’s promises. Financial hardships, health struggles, broken relationships, and personal failures can cause a person to question whether God’s promises are truly meant for them. However, faith is not based on visible circumstances; it is anchored in the unchanging character of God. Faith looks beyond the temporary and embraces the eternal truth that God cannot lie. What He has spoken, He will accomplish.
There are countless testimonies of individuals who have seen the miraculous power of God simply because they chose to believe. A person may be diagnosed with a terminal illness, yet by faith, they hold onto the promise of healing. Many have seen the impossible become possible because they refused to waver in their trust in God. Another may be on the verge of financial ruin, but through faith and obedience, they witness divine provision that sustains them beyond what they could have ever arranged on their own. These are not coincidences. They are the result of unwavering faith in the promises of God.
Faith is not merely acknowledging that God exists. It is believing that He is actively involved in the lives of those who trust Him. Hebrews 11:6 declares that without faith, it is impossible to please God, for one must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. This means that God delights in blessing those who believe Him. The reward of faith is not always material wealth or immediate success, but it is always something greater than what a person could achieve on their own. Sometimes the greatest blessings come in the form of peace in the midst of chaos, joy in the midst of sorrow, and strength in times of weakness.
The story of Mary, the mother of Jesus, is a perfect example of how faith leads to blessing. When the angel Gabriel appeared to her and declared that she would conceive the Son of God, she had every reason to doubt. From a human perspective, the promise was impossible. She was a virgin, engaged to be married, and the implications of her situation could have led to severe consequences in her culture. Yet, instead of questioning or resisting, she simply responded, "Let it be done unto me according to your word." That statement of faith positioned her to become the most blessed among women. Her willingness to believe God, even when logic said otherwise, allowed her to walk in a blessing that would impact generations to come.
In a similar way, each person has the opportunity to walk in divine blessings when they choose to believe what God has spoken. Whether it is a promise of provision, healing, restoration, or purpose, faith is the bridge that connects the believer to the fulfillment of that promise. The greatest obstacle to faith is doubt. The enemy of the soul constantly seeks to sow seeds of doubt, making people question whether God will truly do what He has said. This battle of faith is not a new phenomenon. It has been present since the beginning of time when the serpent deceived Eve by making her question God's word. The strategy of the enemy has not changed. He knows that if a person stops believing, they will stop receiving.
Faith requires perseverance. Many of God’s promises do not manifest immediately, but those who endure in faith will see the fulfillment of what God has spoken. Abraham waited decades before he saw the birth of Isaac. Joseph endured slavery and imprisonment before stepping into his destiny as a ruler in Egypt. David was anointed as king while still a young shepherd, yet he had to wait and endure opposition before he took the throne. The common factor in all these stories is unwavering faith. The delays were not denials. They were periods of preparation, refining the individual’s character and trust in God so that they would be ready for the blessing when it arrived.
One of the greatest misconceptions about faith is that it eliminates hardships. In reality, faith sustains a person through hardships. It is not about avoiding trials but about overcoming them through trust in God. The three Hebrew boys—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—were thrown into a fiery furnace because of their faith. Yet, instead of being consumed, they were protected by God, and their faith led to a divine intervention that caused even a pagan king to acknowledge the power of their God. Faith does not always remove a person from the fire, but it ensures that they are not destroyed by it.
In today’s fast-paced world, people often seek immediate results. They want to see instant blessings, immediate solutions, and quick fixes to their problems. However, faith operates on God’s timeline, not human impatience. When a person truly believes, they rest in the assurance that God’s timing is perfect. Instead of striving, worrying, or trying to force outcomes, they live with peace, knowing that what God has promised will come to pass at the appointed time.
Faith is a journey. It begins with a decision to trust God, but it must be nurtured daily. A person’s faith grows through prayer, studying scripture, and surrounding themselves with other believers who encourage and strengthen them. When faith is exercised, it becomes stronger. Just as a muscle grows through resistance and training, faith grows when it is put to the test. Every trial is an opportunity to build a deeper trust in God and to experience His faithfulness firsthand.
Ultimately, faith leads to a life of blessing. The blessing is not always material, but it is always profound. A person who lives by faith walks in a different realm, one where fear does not control them, where joy is not dictated by circumstances, and where peace surpasses all understanding. The greatest blessing of all is the relationship with God that faith cultivates. It is the ability to walk closely with the Creator, knowing that He is not only a distant deity but a loving Father who delights in blessing His children.
To believe in God's word is to position oneself for a life of blessing. The words of Luke 1:45 remain true today: "You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said." Faith is the key to unlocking the fullness of God's promises. It is not a passive belief but an active trust that shapes decisions, actions, and perspectives. Those who choose to believe, despite obstacles and doubts, will find themselves living in the reality of God's blessings, not because of their own efforts, but because they trusted in the One who is always faithful to His word.
