Why Christ Came and What It Reveals About the Father
Why Christ Came and What It Reveals About the Father
When people talk about the purpose of Christ’s coming, they usually point to His mission to save the lost. And that is true. He came to redeem, restore, and rescue. He came to reopen the way to God for every person willing to turn toward Him. Salvation is at the center of His work. But if you look closely at His words and His life, you begin to see something deeper. Jesus came to show us the heart of the Father.
For generations, humanity lived with a limited understanding of who God truly is. In the earliest days, the knowledge of Him was small. People sensed His power, but they did not know His nature. Over time, God gave more insight. The Law taught His standards. The prophets spoke of His justice and His mercy. The people of God saw more, but they still saw in part.
Then Christ stepped into the world. Not as a messenger. Not as a prophet pointing toward God from a distance. He came as the exact expression of the Father’s heart. In His presence, everything that was unclear became unmistakable. His compassion revealed the Father’s compassion. His authority revealed the Father’s authority. His patience, His purity, His strength, His forgiveness, all of it showed us what the Father is truly like. There was no more guessing. No more shadows. No more distance.
This is why His coming matters so deeply. You do not have have to build your understanding of God on fear, imagination, or tradition. You build it on Christ Himself. When you watch how He moved, you are watching the Father’s heart in motion. When you listen to His words, you are hearing the Father’s voice. When you see the way He treated people, you are seeing how the Father feels about you.
This changes the way you walk with God. When you know His nature, trust becomes easier. Prayer becomes more honest. Worship becomes more genuine. You stop approaching God as if He is far away or easily angered. You begin approaching Him with confidence, knowing He receives you with the same love Christ displayed again and again.
As we reflect on the gift of Christ’s coming, let this be a time when you draw closer with intention. Set your heart to seek God with a fresh openness. Take time to pray with sincerity. Open the Scriptures and let the life of Christ reshape what you think the Father is like. The goal is not more information. The goal is a deeper relationship with the One who loves you beyond measure.
Christ came to save you. He came to redeem you. But He also came to show you the Father you belong to. And when you truly see Him, your whole life shifts toward trust, peace, and a confidence that does not break under pressure.
"That they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." John 17:3
