You Do Not Need More Energy. You Need To Be Anchored.
Here is something nobody tells you.
You are exhausted because you are trying to generate strength you do not have. You are trying to hold yourself together when you are falling apart. You are trying to manufacture energy that is just not there.
And it is not working.
Because that is not how God designed you. You were never meant to be your own source of strength. You were meant to be anchored.
1 Peter 5:10 tells you what God is after. Not just relief. Stability. "He will Himself restore you, secure you, strengthen you, and establish you."
Notice what He is doing. He is planting your feet. He is giving you something that does not move. He is making you strong, firm, and steadfast.
Not just energized. Anchored.
There is a difference between being energized and being anchored. Energy comes and goes. It depends on how you slept, what you ate, how your day is going. Energy is fragile. It can be drained in an instant by a bad phone call, a disappointing email, or a difficult conversation.
But anchored? Anchored holds. Anchored does not move when the wind picks up. Anchored stays steady when everything else is shifting.
That is what God is doing in your suffering. He is not just giving you a boost to get through today. He is planting your feet in something that will hold you for the rest of your life.
Think about a ship in a storm. The ship does not generate its own stability. It does not try to outrun the waves. It drops anchor. It holds onto something that is deeper than the storm. Something that does not move.
That is what God is doing with you. He is anchoring you in something deeper than your circumstances. Deeper than your emotions. Deeper than your exhaustion. He is anchoring you in Himself.
And here is the beautiful thing. Once you are anchored, you do not have to generate your own strength anymore. You just hold onto the anchor. You just stay connected to the One who is holding you.
That changes everything.
You stop trying to be strong enough. You stop exhausting yourself trying to hold it all together. You stop pretending you have it all figured out. You just hold onto the anchor.
And the anchor holds you.
So stop trying to generate more energy. Stop trying to manufacture more strength. Stop trying to just push through. That is not going to work long term.
Let God plant your feet. Let Him establish you. Let Him make you firm and steadfast.
Not because you found a way to be strong enough. Because you finally stopped trying to be your own anchor.
